DALLAS - When Rosewood Hotels & Resorts assumed management of Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort in 2002, Rosewood was awarded one of the most beautiful and unique properties in the world. Though Jumby Bay is one of the most revered destinations for sophisticated travelers around the globe, its owners are committed to making the premier Caribbean resort even better. Today, envisioning the possibilities of improving upon this already outstanding property, Rosewood announced the launch of an extensive renovation of this exclusive island hideaway.
The $26-million project, which will be designed by MCM Architects of Portland, Oregon, will include the complete redesign and rebuilding of guest accommodations as well as the addition of a new resort spa, oceanfront infinity pool and the total renovation of the open-air Verandah restaurant.
Jumby Bay has long been lauded for its attention to detail, and the renovation and expansion will be a reflection of this quest for perfection and sophisticated luxury. The new world-class spa will offer four treatment rooms surrounding a dramatic sculpture garden. Each room will boast a private courtyard, allowing guests the opportunity to savor sumptuous treatments in the beautiful Caribbean environment. Similar attention to detail will be evident in the stunning oceanfront infinity pool, which will seamlessly draw eyes towards panoramic views of the sea. With luxurious residential style interiors, and private entry courtyards, newly created suites will also enjoy private infinity pools and superior guest services. All areas of the 300-acre property will be enhanced and redesigned without abandoning the original spirit of the resort.
"This renewal is a significant validation of Rosewood's dedication to providing the highest level of service and attention to detail," states Robert Boulogne, Chief Operating Officer of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. "Though Jumby Bay is already recognized as one of the premier resorts in the world, we are excited to further elevate its standard of luxury."
With the 12 month renovation scheduled for completion in mid 2009, Jumby Bay's Villas and high-value selection of Estate Homes will remain open throughout the project. The remainder of the property will close June 1, 2008.
The selection of MCM Architects to design the renovation is an astute choice given the firm's long-running familiarity with Jumby Bay Island. MCM has been the lead architect since Jumby Bay's inception, and will assure the original sense of the resort so beloved of generations of returning guests will be retained.
